"where were you when" - radically bookish wiki chat during Obama's inauguration
OK, you really DON'T want to read this post unless you have a LOT of time! Basically, a few friends from our bookclub (radically bookish) joined an online chat during Obama's inauguration. I thought it would be cool to post it here to save it as a "where were you when" type thing. If you're curious, the following is a log of our chat. You can see what we were all thinking during his speech! The participants are myself (k10), Kjirsten, Theresa and Jade.

Hope on Inauguration Day
On this wonderful and much awaited morning, Sofia expressed her excitement by jumping up and down shouting, "yea Barack Obama, yea Barack Obama! I know you can do it!" There is nothing to match the optimism of a 3-year-old. We are now watching Obama's speech with tears in our eyes. What an amazing, defining moment in our history.

emerson and the ball
Emerson is sitting by himself now - what a great new stage! He discovered a soft, squishy baseball that my cousin Mark gave to us, and is playing with it in this video. Enjoy!

outer space
During the last month of school Sofia's class studied the solar system. Sofia loves to talk about the "astronauto" (Spanish). The last day before the holiday break, all of the ECE classrooms did a special outer space day, where they went around to each room and had a different activity in each. In Sofia's classroom they built space ships, across the hall they made planets, and finally they created a book of the constellations. Here are some pictures of the fun day!
